MUS Reflection - Angela

I was able to lead the field trips that came to MOXI from MUS. I think it would have been beneficial and fun for both myself and the students to have gone through the previous activities together in their classroom. I think being familiar with the students and seeing how their classroom is run, such as classroom management, is going to be a useful tool for future field trips.I did hear common language used during VTS and the discussion portion of the field trip as well as hand symbols that they used for agree and disagree. I also observed that this group, compared to previous field trips used the demo as a tool when constructing their designs. For example, the demo uses a crumpled piece of paper that falls to the bottom of the wind column and a flat piece of paper that flies out the top. One of the students designs was a crumpled piece of paper taped on top of a flat piece of paper thinking that would result in a product that hovers in the wind column. Additional students used similar ideas from the demo in order to come up with a successful design.
